Jim Gross started hunting very early, doing varmint patrol with his .22 on ground squirrels as a youth of seven. From there he moved onto hunting doves, ducks, geese, quail and pheasant in his native Southern California and neighboring Mexico. Later he hunted mule deer, white-tailed deer and pronghorn and this led to other big game hunts – in North America as well as internationally.
Since then, Jim has explored all six of the earth’s huntable continents and areas – North America, South America, Africa, Asia, the South Pacific and Europe. During these years he has been able to take over 100 different species of big game animals, meet hundreds of outfitters, acquire a wealth of knowledge about international travel and study local cultures and customs. In other words, he gained the experience needed to form his hunt booking company, Wild World Adventures, 18 years ago.
During these past 18 years Jim has arranged hunts for polar bear in the frozen arctic, elephant in the heat of Africa, sheep at 16,000 feet elevation in Asia and water buffalo at sea level in Australia. From white-tailed deer in North America to gazelles in Africa; caribou and moose in the great north to tahr and chamois in New Zealand; pronghorn antelope in the western US to ibex in Asia, he has done it. He has the experience, knowledge and desire to put his clients in the best possible place at the best possible time to maximize their hunting opportunity.
